The Boise Dog Carnival kicks off this weekend and this free event might interest your entire family. Bring on the Pups!

I'd like to disclaim that ONLY dogs isn't my idea. I know the cat lovers will fire back with that exact question. I'm sure there is a feline frenzy coming soon!

The Boise Dog Carnival is a free event that takes place at Julia Davis Park, Saturday may 26. This is a free event and you can enter your pup in one of many contests. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. and runs to midday afternoon around 3:00 p.m.

This will be your Memorial Day Weekend and that's a three-day weekend. Expect a ton of people wherever you end up this weekend with weather in the 80's.

There will be dog contests, a special pup parade, demonstrations, vendors, food, games and many more carnival style things to do.

The Dog Contests:

  • Frisbee Catch Contest
  • Dog Trick Contest
  • Dog Parade with costumes that are optional.
  • Dogs that make the top pick will receive special prizes.

Daily rundown:

  • 9:00 a.m. - Boise Dog Carnival
  • 9:30 a.m. - Dog Parade
  • 11:00 a.m. - Boise Police K-9 Unit Bomb Dog Demo.
  • 12:00 p.m. - Frisbee Catch Contest.
  • 1:00 p.m. - Dog Trick Contest.
  • 1:30 p.m. - Dog Training Demo.
  • 2:00 p.m. - Owner/dog Look-a-like contest.
  • 3:00 p.m. - Boise Dog Carnival ends.
