There are some truly gorgeous sites you can take in here in Idaho's capitol city. The foothills, Lucky Peak, walking along the Boise River.

Oh yeah. And rats. Lots of rats.

So, there's a rat problem in Boise. Why isn't someone doing something to fix it?

Well, that's the thing. Nobody has to.

More and more Boise (and surrounding cities) residents are reporting seeing rats out and about. In the woods, in your backyard, in your house. They're everywhere.

The worst part is? Nobody is coming to save you.

While some locals are trying to do what they can do help, the state legally has no responsibility to help with a rodent problem and/or infestation. Meaning, if you've got rats, you're on your own.

If you do encounter a rat, please don't try to capture it. They carry diseases, are very bitey, and generally do not respect your personal space if you get too close.

Good luck out there.

Unfortunately, the City of Trees isn't the only spot in the country dealing with rodent and rodent-adjacent issues at the moment.

Just take a look at what's happening in these cities...

We wish rats were the only thing we had to worry about in Boise currently. That's very much not the case.

Jokes aside, while you're out there trying to avoid rats, you'll also need to be actively avoiding flashers.

No, it's not the 1970's. There are actually real humans out there who still like to show off their goodies to randoms. V gross.
