Boise, Idaho had an interesting start to their work week when they suddenly felt the ground shaking beneath them.
It's a rare occurrence to feel earthquakes in Boise which is why when it does happen it feels that much more frightening. It's hard not to be a little shaken up when you are having a normal Monday morning and then you quite literally get shaken up. The earthquake that hit this morning was no different.

While the earthquake took place in central Idaho it was still felt many miles away here in Boise. The earthquake in question had a 4.2-magnitude and occurred in the Clayton area. Many people going about their day to day lives here in Boise felt the effects of the quake around 9:30 this morning and almost everyone was simply not expecting it at all.
Boise earthquakes are one of those things that you don't expect and when it does happen it's something that everyone will be talking about for some time. Every once and a while smaller quakes happen but not to the point where you can actively feel something. Which is why this morning when the ground started shaking and you can feel it happening it's almost a feeling of helplessness.
It's important to remember that earthquakes can happen in Boise and to always be prepared on what to do in case another one hits. You never know when the next one can happen so Boise residents need to make sure they are ready when it happens again.
