Boise Restaurant Rumored To Close; Now They’re Being Evicted

It's never the news we want to have to share--but things are looking bleak for a popular downtown Boise sandwich shop.

Just a couple of weeks ago, on May 3rd, we shared the news that there were rumors of Even Steven's in downtown Boise closing their doors for good. 

A combination of things were fueling the rumors. First, the stores website was down. Then--when folks tried to call, nobody was answering. Some on social media had reported that they ordered to-go meals online but when they got to the storefront, the business wasn't even open. When we went down to investigate, we found a sign that warned of limited hours--the sign explained their small staff needed a break.

Today, we're learning the store might be closing after-all.

We visited the store front after more rumors of closing--this time, we found a notice from the Ada County Sheriff, which is pictured below:

While we were here, a gentleman out front asked "why do people need to keep taking pictures of this Sheriff's notice". Full disclosure--we felt the frustration. We all do.

While reporting this is our job--at the end of the day, we all are Boise residents and seeing ANY business in town means that folks lost jobs and for many--even more than a job.

We hope that whatever is going on over at Even Steven's can be resolved and that all involved, from ownership to employee, are doing alright in this difficult time.
