They use to say that Boise State was 'A Football School' and now, the basketball team is giving that football program a run for their money. You may recall the significant amount of hype that the men's basketball team garnered last year and let's be honest--despite having some decent seasons over the years, it was an all-time high. The Broncos won nearly all of their games after the new year, won the Mountain West Conference outright in the regular season and tournament weekend.

It wasn't just a one-time thing: the Broncos are back for a second season, looking strong as ever under the guidance of Leon Rice.

The Broncos got revenge on New Mexico this week and San Diego State is coming to town in a week--the ranked program dominated Boise State in an awful road-game showing but a win might just prove the Broncos are March Madness worthy.

Here's the beautiful thing: the Broncos have proven they're good enough--even with another loss to San Diego State. In some of the most recent projections, Boise State who is technically 'On The Bubble', seems to be a favorite as a 10 seed.

Star guard Max Rice has a different look at bubble life:

San Diego State comes to Boise for the final home game of the season, Tuesday, February 28th.

The hype was real about this basketball team last year--do you remember what happened when the Broncos won big and students weren't allowed to storm the court? Yikes!

Security Slams Boise State Students to Ground After Win

History was made at ExtraMile Arena on the night of Tuesday, March 1st. When you think of the arena--you may think of your favorite concerts or acts. No, a sell out crowd didn't set a record. The Boise State men's basketball team did. One might think that a major celebration was in order. Clearly, some security folks had a different idea.

There are a lot of great folks involved with Boise State's athletic department but we still think this star is under-appreciated!

Boise State's Most Underappreciated Star

Boise State seems to mean "football" for most, right? On a national stage, after all, it's the blue turf and the success that the Broncos have had on it that made the university a household name. What happens on the hardwood, however, is far from appreciated at the level that it should be. Leon Rice came to Boise State as a blessing from one of the most powerful basketball programs in the nation: Gonzaga University. Now, the winningest basketball coach in the history of the school seems to take immediate heat if the Broncos aren't in the Final Four. Spoiled by wins on the football field, fans seem to expect the same of the basketball program but when the investment in basketball is so much less than football--can you really have these types of expectations!?

Former Boise State Star Loves Cheeseburgers
