Boise State Gets Mixed Reviews on New Novelty Helmet Design
Just over a week ago, an Idaho football team broke into national headlines for a helmet design. Not the state's 'darling' Boise State--but the University of Idaho! Dubbed as 'The Fightin' Taters' for one week only (though they'll be known for that now, for some time), the Idaho Vandals had mentions and cameos on College Game Day and all across the internet for the retro and novelty designs.
This week, Boise State is rolling out some novelty helmets.
They haven't gone viral--and they haven't been as popular as the Fightin' Taters.
Take a look at the helmet for yourself, and the banter going on about it online:

What do you think about the design--and the online commentary?
If you boil down the back and forth-- it seems that nobody is hating on the actual artwork or design. The confusion seems to come from it's effectiveness on a helmet. Certainly, that's a lot of detail on a helmet that won't be visible unless you're on the field next to one.
We also think the work itself is amazing to have been done right here in the Treasure Valley by a LOCAL artist--this is way too cool.
Idaho roots? Yes! Shoutout to Boise State for keeping it right here in Ida-HOME!
