Boise State Hosts Fourth Ranked Team Sunday
Having attended Gonzaga University for college, being a college basketball fan was essentially a second major for my classmates and I. The basketball culture up at Gonzaga is unparalleled in the West and the program has built itself into a national powerhouse, spending time at that #1 ranked spot several times over the past decade. A product of the Gonzaga University basketball program? Boise State men's basketball Head Coach Leon Rice.
Rice and his crew will be attempting to defend their home court at Extra Mile arena this Sunday afternoon as the undefeated, fourth-ranked, San Diego State Aztecs invade the Treasure Valley. San Diego State is a part of a conversation that I know all too well being a Gonzaga basketball fan: "they're a small school", "they've never won a National Championship", "They don't play a tough schedule", and so on. Well, even though I'm skeptical of how well the San Diego State Aztecs will stack up come March on a national level, there's no denying that this team has some solid wins under their belt and will be TOUGH to beat.
After a rough season last year, Boise State has won seven of their last ten games and continues to improve on the court behind the leadership of former Zag coach Leon Rice. I really think with the right energy in the arena that Boise State can pull a MAJOR upset over San Diego State.
