Basketball season is officially here and despite the fact that it may still be getting overshadowed by football for a few more weeks--teams across America have offically kicked of their seasons, with eyes on the prize: March Madness.

As the head coach of Gonzaga University, Mark Few, annually reminds the country-- it's the greatest sporting event on earth!

Only 68 teams can make the 'big dance' and every win--or loss--counts.

Boise State sat out of March Madness last year, for the first time in a minute. After three consecutive years of making it to the tournament, the Broncos didn't make the cut in 2025. There's plenty of time for redemption--but they're going to need to win back some momentum and some fan support.

Just this week, Boise State dropped their season opener.

Losses happen. Losses at home happen. Season-opening losses to a program that nobody has ever heard of? That's a tough blow and many fans are calling it the 'worst loss' in program history.

Boise State fell by one point to Hawaii Pacific, a Division II basketball program that is based out of a retired strip mall in Hawaii!

Fans are still talking about the loss--and lumping that into the much more high-profile loss that Boise State football suffered on The Blue against Fresno State a few days earlier.

Are fans being too salty? Probably so.

There is an ENTIRE BASKETBALL SEASON ahead of the Broncos and projections show that head coach Leon Rice did a great job of recruiting in the transfer portal and will indeed have a high caliber roster.

Give the guys a minute--there's a lot to prove as they enter their last season in the Mountain West Conference?

Hey, Fans...and students: Let the coaches get the team dialed in. You've got one year to work on yourself before the likes of Gonzaga march into town and you see what a real college basketball environment looks like! You don't even know what's coming.

Boise State's Most Underappreciated Star

Boise State seems to mean "football" for most, right? On a national stage, after all, it's the blue turf and the success that the Broncos have had on it that made the university a household name. What happens on the hardwood, however, is far from appreciated at the level that it should be. Leon Rice came to Boise State as a blessing from one of the most powerful basketball programs in the nation: Gonzaga University. Now, the winningest basketball coach in the history of the school seems to take immediate heat if the Broncos aren't in the Final Four. Spoiled by wins on the football field, fans seem to expect the same of the basketball program but when the investment in basketball is so much less than football--can you really have these types of expectations!?
