We're lucky to be surrounded by locally owned and operated business here in the Treasure Valley--most of our local favorites ARE INDEED locally owned. It's a part of what makes our area so special--the thriving local scene and the passion for supporting local.

It's been a tough year for many of us--fuel is a million dollars a gallon, groceries are three times as expensive (so it feels) and businesses, like individuals, aren't immune to these challenges that we feel.

While we are not clear on why, one downtown Boise bar has 'made the decision' to close--for good.

Have you ever enjoyed the patio or good vibes of Whiskey Bar on Main Street?

In a post on Instagram, Whiskey Bar broke the heartbreaking news:

After 12 incredible years, we have made the decision to close Whiskey Bar. What started as an idea turned into something far bigger than we ever expected, thanks to the support of this community, our staff, and everyone who walked through our doors. We are proud of what we built and grateful for the memories, friendships, and countless nights shared over a drink. Thank you for being part of the ride. Our last night will be Saturday, May 2nd. Come on down for one last Kentucky Derby and old fashioned!

It seems that whether you've got one or one hundred great memories at Whiskey Bar, this weekend, May 2nd, might just be the right time to go back for one more cocktail or gathering of friends.
