Do you know pf any bold and fearless teens that are ready to make their voices heard? The city of Boise is ready to listen to the fresh ideas and solutions from a new generation that is passionate in the fight surrounding climate change. Sometimes I personally feel more impacted by the words spoken from a teenager than I do some 50 year-olds. I have a lot of faith in this next generation when it comes to social and environmental change, and their ability to make a positive impact on this world.

The City of Boise and Mayor Lauren McLean evidentially do too as they are looking for students across the city to represent thee community as part of Boise's first-ever Youth Climate Action Council.

The city says they are seeking "diverse and dynamic students with the leadership potential to turn passion for climate challenges into direct community action." Listed below are some of the preferred qualifications of potential council members:

  • Bring a diverse lived experience and perspective
  • Have passion for their community, particularly around climate change
  • Are student leaders who may not have yet had meaningful leadership opportunities
  • Are bilingual (preferred – not mandatory)

The application period to become a part of the Youth Climate Action Council is open now through midnight, Sunday, April 4, 2021. Other requirements include:
