It's been a great season for Boise State football so far this year and things are only looking up! Could this be the year that Boise State lands major national attention in the first-ever expanded College Football Playoff? It may well be!

The Broncos have played two games so far this season. They won on the road against Georgia Southern and lost--narrowly-- in Eugene, Oregon to the Oregon Ducks who at the time, were ranked in the Top 10, nationally.

Despite their loss in Oregon (which really felt like a moral victory in the end), the team marches on as one of the favorites from the 'non-power' conferences and the team's running back, Ashton Jeanty, continues to be a leader in all sorts of columns. The explosive player is even on many Heisman leaderboards--Boise State hasn't had a player in that conversation since Kellen Moore.

Set to kickoff at home this weekend, the Broncos are indeed confirmed to be playing against Portland State.

Why is that confirmation being emphasized so much? Just days ago, Portland State canceled their game from last weekend because of an outbreak of Whooping Cough among the team.

There have been tons of online rumors that this may happen again, against Boise State. Just this afternoon, however, Spencer Danielson made it clear that the game IS on and doesn't want fans leaving their plans up in the air. Albertsons Stadium needs to be packed!

Boise State's game on Saturday will be its first home game of the season.
