There's nothing quite like a breakup on Valentine's Day, am I right? There's a big one coming this year but maybe it isn't as big as some would expect after all.  According to Costco, this service just isn't as popular as it once was and on Valentine's Day, it's going away.

Just this past month, I was celebrating a birthday and had a real nice, custom canvas print made at the Costco Photo Center. It was the easiest process ever-- upload an image, it prints right onto canvas and I even picked it up framed and ready to go.

The days of that are over because apparently people don't print things in person as much anymore. Call me crazy but I've always loved having photos printed!  The days of taking rolls of film to a pharmacy counter at Albertsons are long gone but uploading my favorite photos from my iPhone to have PRINTS of? I do that all of the time. I'm a sucker for cherishing fun memories and hanging them up in my office or at my home.

In a statement released by Costco, you can see that while the in-store printing service will be going away there will still be plenty of online options:

The photo department at all Costco locations will close on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

The following products will remain available on the Costco Photo Center website for delivery to home or business:

  • Prints, Enlargements & Posters
  • Stationery & Photo Greeting Cards

  • Business Printing Products

The following services will not be available after Sunday, February 14, 2021:

  • Ink Refill
  • Passport Photos
  • Photo Restoration

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sincerely,
