Could Idaho be one of the first states to put an extra tax on popular food items known to the 420 friendly crowd as munchies?

Surprisingly if the law is signed by the Governor it would happen.

Colorado is reaping the benefits of legalizing marijuana reporting that medical and recreational pot taxes could produce $114 Million dollars in taxes for the first fiscal year. It's only natural that conservative states such as Idaho would attempt to generate extra revenue without legalizing it. A source close to the story claims "putting a extra tax on munchies just makes scene."

But what would something like this look like? Well, obviously the tax wouldn't be enforced until after 10pm. The "source" is quoted as saying, "we wouldn't want to go after regular people buying Flaming Hot Cheetos and Twinkies...Just the Potheads."

If this law was passed it could add quite a bit to the total price of any food considered to be "munchies."

For example a 9 1/2 ounce bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos sells for around 5.50. With the new increased tax of 420% that price could jump upwards of $23.10

If Idaho were to follow the Colorado model the first 50 million dollars generated could go to Idaho schools.
