Spend anytime on social media or especially in local Facebook groups and odds are, you're going to see Treasure Valley residents complaining about drivers on our roads.

Who is to blame?

The typical commenter will blame...you guessed it: Californians.

The answer is certainly all over the board, however. Now more than ever, drivers are distracted in ways that they never have been before. Plus, take a look at the population boom here in the Treasure Valley--so many more cars on the road is a recipe and a call for significantly more attention needed while behind the wheel.

How can roads be safer? The easy answer is: if everyone could just drive a little safer!

The complicated and far less fun answer? Police patrol.

Our local law enforcement officers can't be everywhere and in the City of Boise, some changes are on the way, as Boise City Council just voted to approve of the installation of 'Red Light Cameras'.

Soon, there will be eyes in the sky whether police are around, or not!

The process is just getting started, so expect some time before they're installed. While the Mayor of Boise Lauren McLean commented that she's excited to have them, the city still needs to price out the installments, choose vendors, and select where they're going.

Boise will be the first city in Idaho to have them. Unfamiliar with them? It's simple: run a red light and it's going to snap a photo of your car. You'' likely find a ticket in your mailbox shortly thereafter.

Neighboring state, Montana, recently banned them all together citing privacy concerns.

Drive safe out there, Boise!

Take a look at the list of Treasure Valley intersections, below. Would you agree that these are some of the worst and most frustrating in the entire city!? Perhaps they could use some red light cameras?

The Top 12 Most Frustrating Intersections in the Treasure Valley

If we were to compare ourselves to other major cities in the Pacific Northwest, Boise would look silly complaining about these sorts of things slowing down our commute by minutes. But, we're not Seattle. We're not Portland. These intersections are annoying and everyone knows it!
