Violent Sex Offender Who Evaded Idaho Police Caught in Louisiana

Have you ever heard of the jokes that often begin with 'Florida Man'? It's a running joke on the internet because it seems that the most unusual crimes take place in Florida and authorities are usually looking to track the suspects down.

Somehow, just about a year ago, this 'Florida man' situation made its way to Idaho, of all places, as a man wanted by federal authorities--from Florida--was spotted by police.

The ultimate plot twist? He evaded arrest, running into the woods near Athol, Idaho. He's been on the run ever since.

Take a look at the 'Florida Man' that just so happens to be a federally wanted fugitive--last seen in Idaho. 

The man has now been arrested in Louisiana. 

Originally arrested in 2022 with lube, condoms, rope, narcotics and more while on his way to meet a minor--42-year-old Christian Bert Fischer fled from Florida while out on bail on the second day of his trial.

It's nothing shy of amazing that he was not only spotted in Athol, Idaho but also got away from police in the area--a town with the total population of 790.

After being on the run for well over a year, federal authorities did not give up on their search for the fugitive-and it has finally come to an end, a very long way from where he was last seen: Athol, Idaho.

Thanks to lots of national teamwork, he's been brought into custody where he will now be returned to Florida to complete the judicial process.
