If you think about if for a moment, people in Idaho have to be pretty smart. We make a killing every year slinging potatoes, we keep our nature and environment squeaky clean, and we have only the best traffic systems set up here (that's a lie).

Jokes aside, how smart are Idahoans on average? What happens if we take a look at high school graduation rates in Idaho compared to other states? Let's go!

How many Idahoans have graduated high school?

Luckily, that information is readily accessible thanks to the power of the internet. Idaho lands in 13th place in the U.S. for having the most high school graduates, with about 91% of Idaho residents having a high school degree.

What about states surrounding Idaho?

Well, depends which direction you look. Here's how many citizens of neighboring states have a high school diploma:

  • California - 84.5%
  • Oregon - 91.8%
  • Washington - 92.3%
  • Utah - 93.1%
  • Oregon - 91.8%

So, that puts Idaho right around average for this part of the country. Except for California. We simply cannot explain that. Maybe you can, but we don't want that smoke right now.

Ok, well what about kids in Idaho who have yet to graduate high school? How are they getting there safely?

Well, you might be surprised to hear that electric school buses are already here in Idaho, and more are on the way.

What won't surprise you is to hear that the internet is extremely divided on this topic, and nobody seems to agree.

Going to make for a very interesting 2025/2026 school year this Fall...
