Here’s Where You Can Buy The Cheapest Gas in Boise
Today I did a double take as I went to fill up my car for gas. $3.09 per gallon!? My eyes didn't want to believe it nor did my bank account. However we've all known for a while now that higher gas prices were on their way. Gas prices have gone up 16.7 cents in just this past week in Idaho which is the second largest increase in the entire country right behind Utah. If you think that sounds crazy, gas prices in the past month here in the gem state have jumped 50 WHOLE CENTS!
AAA reports the average price for a regular gallon of gas in Idaho as of Monday is $2.86 per gallon, which matches the national average. Our neighbors up in Washington state though our suffering a bit of a higher price paying an average of $3.26 for a gallon of gas so... hey, it could be worse, right?
According to GasBuddy the cheapest gas in Boise on Monday evening could be found at the Costco on Cole Rd for $2.89. Albertsons on Apple St. has the second lowest gas at $2.91. The average price in Boise is $3.11 per gallon and the most expensive gas is priced at $3.28.
Increasing gas prices are reportedly due to a decline in refinery production from the recent winter storms. The national gas price average jumped nearly 40 cents following the storms that swept through the south back in February, according to AAA. There is reportedly also a higher demand with more people wanting to travel after being vaccinated against COVID-19.
