If you're a fan of old TV shows and movies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, you'll probably pick up on a trend if you watch enough of them:

Everyone was smoking back then!

Fast forward a few decades to 2024, and you can't help but notice you're seeing less and less people smoking cigarettes, both in real life, and on the big and small screens.

So, how many Idahoans are still smoking cigarettes in 2024?

Believe it or not, Californians are smoking LESS on average than Idahoans.

According to Statista, there are still many Americans smoking cigarettes daily in 2024, even though that number has dropped drastically in the past few decades.

Per their research, 20% of West Virginians are smokers. That's one in every five people! There are more smokers per capita there than any other state in the country.

Idaho finds itself right about in the middle of the list, with 11% of Idahoans still reaching for a smoke in 2024. We were surprised to find California tied for 2nd lowest amount of smokers, coming in at only 9%.

Utah had the lowest percentage at 6%.

How about you? Are you still purchasing and smoking cigarettes today? Are you part of the 11%? Or have you moved on to other vices?

As a note, it's still illegal as of the writing of this article to grow, smoke, or have cannabis on your person in the state of Idaho. So, ya know, you're taking a risk if you do so.

Unless you know these top-secret methods we're about to share ;)
