A bow with her photo and PLK (Play Like Kate) will be pinned to the Rocky Mountain Softball team's uniforms as they honor their teammate who suddenly passed on Friday. Hundreds came out to the vigil and mourned the loss of a teammate and friend.

The vigil was planned for 9pm on Wednesday, May 17th. Anyone could come out and honor 15-year-old Kate Marshall - and they did.

Kate couldn't have "her" number of 5 so they assigned her #9. The freshman would have had time to be awarded her number by her senior year but that opportunity will never happen.

At dusk, the bags were set up to spell out K-A-T-E and create hearts.

As I write this and see the photos from last night, I am in my head about it. I can't imagine what family and friends are going through right now with the sudden passing of Kate. It's such an in-your-face reminder that we should cherish every single day we have with the people we love. We never know what's going to happen.
