These are the kinds of stories that we never hope to have to share or hear about in Idaho, however it's important that when these alerts do come out--we pay attention to our surroundings. Being able to identify a vehicle or a person is crucial in instances like this--where a child could potentially be in danger.

During the late evening hours of Saturday night, August 24th, an AMBER Alert was issued in the greater Treasure Valley area.

The alert, a nationally implemented network of public safety systems, pings phones, televisions, radios, road signs and more when authorities know a child is missing and in danger. They will be broadcast to the entire surrounding area as well as areas where authorities believe the child may be / may be headed.

The alert went out from Idaho State Police just after 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night and by 2:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, just hours later, the department was alerting the public that the 7-year-old girl was located safely.

Now, we're learning than an arrest was made.

When the initial alert went out, authorities shared that the little girl was likely with 32-year-old Amber Farson.

While details behind the arrest are still unknown to the public, shortly after sharing that the girl had been found, Farson was booked into Ada County Jail on one count of Felony Kidnapping.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, over 1,300 children have been found because of various pubic safety efforts around the AMBER Alert system, and more. You can learn more and get live AMBER alert updates or missing children information, HERE.
