It was a year unlike most in the past--a real lack of Treasure Valley teams in the tournament meant that just a few would have the chance to keep the state titles right here in the Treasure Valley. Some usual suspects like Bishop Kelly High School and Skyview High School didn't even make the bracket this year. One team, Columbia High School made it to the dance for the first time in school history.

In the 5A bracket, local teams were many: Rocky Mountain High School, Eagle High School, Borah High School, Capital High School, and Mountain View High School all made the cut. Borah, the only team from the Treasure Valley to make it onto the winning side of the bracket, ended up winning it all--the school's 12 state title. The Idaho Statesman did a great write up on the team that you can read, HERE.

Meanwhile in the 4A, only Vallivue High School made it to the winning side of the bracket, falling short just before making it to the finals. In the title game, two teams not from our area played for it all and Idaho Falls won the championship.
