Idaho Ranks in Top 25 of States With Credit Card Debt
While Boise State and their fans are wishing we were HIGHER on the Top 25 ranking list, the State of Idaho is probably wishing we had cause to be a little LOWER on this one.
How much credit card debt do you have? No, you don't need to share the figure with us, but is that number HIGHER than you wish? In my opinion, even just $20 of debt on a credit card is $20 too many. Spending the money that you actually have is always the smartest strategy in making sure you don't drown yourself in bills, debt, and money owed.
Experian, a major credit reporting bureau, is now reporting that in the United States of America, there's a total of over 800 billion dollars of credit card debt. Yes, you read that right.
So with a cloud of credit card debt that heavy sitting over American consumers, where do Idaho rank?
At the top of the list, you'll see states like Alaska, Virginia, and Texas. Many of these top ranking states also happen to be states that rank the highest in cost of living--which, in a sense, could make a little sense. Idaho isn't anywhere near the highest cost of living states, but when it comes to credit card debt, Idahoans rank 22nd! The average outstanding credit card balance in the state comes out to be about $5,024...that's a bill nobody wants to have to keep paying on!
