Weeks After Attack, Violent Idaho Rape Suspect Arrested in Meridian

We say it all of the time and we aren't afraid to say it again: we're insanely lucky to live here in the Treasure Valley where our families and ourselves are overwhelmingly safe.

There are a lot of things that make this area a great place to live but many, if not all of them, start with that basic foundation of safety. We look out for one another and our local authorities are always looking out for us.

There are, at times, a few sour eggs that have to ruin it for all of us, though...

We are thankful that local law enforcement is working to bring all of Idaho's most wanted to justice!

Meridian Police shared wide and far just this week that a violent rape suspect has been brought into custody following a multi-week investigation.

The suspect, 25-year-old Erik Carrasco Benitez, was brought into custody after a violet rape in Meridian in early July.

According to police, the female victim literally waved down police nearby, shortly after the crime.

As always, it's appropriate to remind the public that the judicial process must now play out and Benitez will be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
