
Idaho’s Most ‘Heated Rivalry’ Reaches 2026 Super Bowl Stage
There are few things in the Treasure Valley that are as big as Boise State football. Even amid the offseason, which we're in the midst of now, football headlines continue to make local and national sports outlets.
The Broncos are coming off of a peculiar season. One in which the team had all of the makings to advance to the College Football Playoff for the second year in a row. An early season loss to South Florida put a real damper on things--followed by some unexpected conference losses and a high profile loss at Notre Dame.
Up North?
The University of Idaho's Vandals, who had a significant down year, also have a passionate football fanbase here in the Gem State.
What do both of these programs have to do with the NFL's greatest game-- the Super Bowl?
Both Idaho universities have sent players off to the professional ranks and both have representation in the Super Bowl!
Demarcus Lawrence and George Holani, two Boise State football standouts, will be playing in Seattle Seahawk gear on Super Bowl Sunday--side by side! On the other side of the field will be the University of Idaho's own Christian Ellis.
Of course these Broncos and Vandals couldn't find themselves on the same team--it seems Idaho's heated rivalry continues!
No matter who wins the game, a graduate from the State of Idaho will be dawning a pretty huge Super Bowl ring and we can't wait to find out who it will be!
