Driving in Boise has become a different beast lately. Once it hits 3 o'clock it seems like the traffic is already building up on the freeways and surface streets. By the time it hits 5 o'clock it basically feels like all hope is lost.

When it comes to teen drivers it appears Idaho may NOT be the best place for them according to a recent ranking.

A new ranking revealed the truth about the best and worst states for teen driving and Idaho was definitely not in a good spot on this list.

Why Does Idaho Rank So Poorly for Teen Drivers?

This ranking put together a lot of information on why Idaho isn't the best state when it comes to teen driving and it's not just because of safety concerns. These are the statistics released with the new ranking:

• 25^th – Teen Driver Fatalities per 100,000 Teens

• 43^rd – Teen DUIs per 100,000 Teens

• 28^th – Avg. Cost of Car Repairs

• 17^th – Premium Increase After Adding Teen Driver to Parent’s Policy

• 25^th – Vehicle Miles Traveled per Capita

• 29^th – Presence of Occupant-Protection Laws

• 29^th – Quality of Roads

Idaho's Teen DUI Ranking Is Raising Some Concerns

One statistic that really sticks out here is the ranking Idaho has for teen DUIs. This is a really concerning ranking when it comes to drinking and driving.
