The cost of living has definitely gone up everywhere in the country but Idaho has definitely had to experience this just as much as every other state. It seems like every single place you go, whether it's to buy food, buy clothes, or even buy a house, you are going to be paying way more than you were just a few years ago.

According to Yale Budget Lap's report China, Mexico, and Canada imports will raise prices because of the new U.S. tariffs. This will include prices on groceries and fresh produce which may increase more than 5%. Sadly this will likely be effecting many of the Idaho grocery stores which means that Idaho shoppers need to start getting a move on before these price raises go into effect.

Currently many reciprocal tariffs can get put into place meaning that the already expensive prices can be expected to increase if they are put into place. Considering a lot of goods are imported into the US many prices are expected to increase.

According to Eat This, Not That all of the seafood that is imported (which is about 85%) can be expected to increase. Considering coffee is also imported, largely from Brazil and Canada, it's also being suggested in reports that those prices will continue to increase.

So there is no better time than now to start stocking up on all your favorite foods that are being imported. If it's helping you save money now, than your future self eating all of your favorite things will definitely be thanking you.
