Internet Claims Idaho’s ‘Signature Food’ Has Nothing to Do With Potatoes
Foodies in Idaho? There are plenty. We're lucky here in the Gem State to be home to so many amazing local and mom & pop restaurants. When a big chain comes to town, it may be exciting, but at the end of the day we always find ways to support and love local a little bit more.
We like to think that we're special here in Idaho--known for famous potatoes, which states could POSSIBLY have it better than us? When people come to visit Idaho, what is it they they must try? A potato? That is certainly a popular answer.
Another claim from foodies here in Idaho is that 'fry sauce' was invented in Idaho. Make that claim in Utah and people may think you're a little bit of a liar--they're very defensive of the dipping sauce down there.
But when you hear the term 'Finger Steaks', what comes to mind?
It has nothing to do with fingers--of any creature--and more about the shape of a cuisine that many here in Idaho believe, originated in Idaho.
More famous than and Idaho potato? We think that might be a tall claim...
