Idaho Ski Resort Offers Free Weekend to Magic Mountain Passholders
Magic Mountain still has not opened this season, and that has been tough on everyone who considers the little ski hill near Twin Falls part of their winter routine.
Now, another Southern Idaho ski area is stepping in with a generous offer for Magic Mountain season passholders and employees.
Magic Mountain Near Twin Falls Still Has Not Opened This Ski Season
Magic Mountain owner Gary Miller told me recently that the resort is not sitting idle. The lifts are inspected. The lodge is stocked. The mountain is ready. The only thing stopping them from opening is lack of snow.
When a small ski area cannot open, it is not only lost ski days for families and kids. It is also a loss of income for employees and seasonal staff. Season passholders are left looking at a season they paid for, with no clear timeline for when they will get to use it.

How the Free Weekend Works: You Must Be on Magic Mountain’s List and Show ID
Magic Mountain says your name must be on their list, and you will need to show an ID at Pebble Creek.
If you are a Magic Mountain season passholder or employee and you want to take advantage of it, the next step is contacting Magic Mountain so they can get your name added.
Where Pebble Creek Is and Why Twin Falls Skiers Know It
If you have been in the Twin Falls and Magic Valley area for a while, you’re probably familiar with Pebble Creek. It is a long-running ski area near Pocatello, tucked into the mountains just outside town.
If you’re new to the area, Pebble Creek is also a realistic day trip option from Twin.
Idaho Ski Areas Looking Out for Each Other During a Rough Winter
This does not solve Magic Mountain’s snow problem, but it does give passholders and employees a way to get on a mountain this weekend while Magic waits on winter to get with it.
Pabble's offer says a lot about the culture of small ski areas in Idaho.
If Magic Mountain gets the storm it needs to finally open, I will share that update as soon as they do.
