Fatal Crash on US Highway 12 Near Milepost 15
A multi-vehicle crash on US Highway 12 at milepost 15.3 left a 71-year-old man from Orofino dead, according to Idaho State Police.
ISP says the crash happened around 8:08 PM on February 27, 2026 when a male juvenile from Lewiston, driving a 2005 Toyota Tacoma, tried to pass an eastbound 2005 Ford F150. As a westbound semi approached, ISP says the Tacoma moved back over and struck the Ford, sending it into the westbound lane. It then collided with a westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.
The Silverado driver was treated for minor injuries and released, and ISP says other occupants and drivers involved were not injured. The Ford driver died from his injuries, according to ISP.

ISP says a head-on crash on US 93 just north of Rogerson killed a 34-year-old man from Hailey early Saturday.
The crash happened at 5:07 AM on February 28, 2026. ISP says a northbound 2016 Toyota Tundra swerved onto the southbound shoulder, then overcorrected and hit a southbound 2026 Freightliner semi head-on in the northbound lanes.
