A recent Saturday Night Live monologue by a male actor and comedian has set in motion a national conversation regarding men and women working out together in public gyms.

By now, many of you have watched the Shane Gillis' monologue from his October 10 appearance on SNL, which was the third time the comedian hosted the popular live variety show. Gillis has received a negative response from many in Hollywood and beyond for making comments about women dressing like 'whores' when working out.

Actor Dan Levy, most notably from the hit show Schitt's Creek, was one of the first actors to come to the defense of women and slam the comedy sketch show for allowing such comments to be made on national television.

Gillis also made fun of himself during the monologue and portrayed himself as one of the types of men who are easily distracted by females and their attire while working out.

An interesting debate arose on the Magic Valley Rants / Raves website when the topic of women-only gyms was raised. Some made comments that gyms that are not unisex have a tougher time remaining open. Regardless of how people feel about the monologue, both Gillis and Saturday Night Live benefited from it due to the extra exposure.

What is your opinion of the monologue? Do you believe Idaho should have more women-only gyms?
