Meet The Hawks Patrolling Idaho’s Roaring Springs This Summer
It's summertime in the Treasure Valley and despite the fact that our weather has been a little bit all over the place lately, one thing is in the air for sure: the urge to get outside!
The ultimate outdoor experience in our area? Roaring Springs.
Lots goes into making Roaring Springs enjoyable -- the rides, the lifeguards, the cleanliness, the food and bev workers-- but who is keeping the seagulls away?
Yes...there really are some 'employees' for that.
Take a look at these animals that you won't expect to see at Roaring Springs!

We'd love to meet them this summer!
A lot of people have noticed the hawks around the park, so Roaring Springs took to Facebook and shared some info about them!
You might just catch a glimpse of Hawks Sis and Shadow on the scene at Roaring Springs! Sis is a juvenile female, approx 4 months old, just learning the ropes. Shadow is an old hand, 3 years old, and the seagulls have a healthy respect for him. They aren’t happy to see the birds back but a lot of guests are! Seagulls snatch fries and pizza, which isn’t a healthy diet, so the hawks encourage them to move on!
We never would have expected some hawks being the unsung heroes of Idaho's top waterpark! But can you even imagine seagulls soaring around and taking food from your plate at Roaring Springs!?
There's a ton of fun to be had at Roaring Springs this summer, including an all new 'Dive In DJ Night' at the park, which will take place each Friday through the summer-- live dj music right by the wave pool!
