In it's 80 years in existent, Krispy Kreme's original glaze has never ever included chocolate.  That all changes at August 19th and the Meridian location has been hand picked as one of the stores to carry the new doughnut!

To celebrate the total solar eclipse that will touch Idaho and eleven other states on August 21st, Krispy Kreme is going dark! The limited edition is a new spin on their iconic Original Glazed Doughnut where it's glazed with a brand new, rich, chocolate recipe.  Not all Krispy Kreme locations will have the eclipse doughnut, but The Idaho Statesman confirms that the Meridian store (located just outside the path of totality) will carry it!

If you want to see the doughnut go through the waterfall of chocolate in person, make sure you stop by the location at 1525 N. Eagle Road on Monday, August 21st from 6-10 a.m. or 5-8 p.m. when the "Hot Light" is on.  The light means the doughnuts are being made fresh!

Going to be out of town camping in the path of totality on the 21st but don't want to miss your chance to taste this delicious piece of Krispy Kreme history? The Meridian shop is also one of the locations that will allow customers to test the doughnut August 19-20th, but they're not sure what time the doughnuts will be available quite yet.
