Another DUI Crash Leaves Nampa Police Car Damaged

For the second time in a month, a drunk driver has ran into a police car in Nampa.

There's nothing funny about driving drunk--or even driving after just one cocktail--but of ALL things to crash in to, is a police car NOT worst case scenario here?

It happened again, just last night, where a Nampa police officer was pulled over working on the scene of a crash--when it was all made worse by the patrol car being crashed into.

Nampa Police released the following statement following the incident:

Tonight, on I-84 in Nampa, a Nampa Police Officer was investigating a crash, when their patrol vehicle was hit by a suspected drunk driver.
The police officer was out of the vehicle, and thankfully far enough away that they were not struck, and they are uninjured.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the police vehicle was also uninjured and has been arrested and charged with DUI.

What on earth is going on in Nampa? 

First and foremost, we're thankful that the Nampa Police Officer was not injured in the 'freak' accident that shamed the back of the patrol car. That said, we're also thankful that the intoxicated driver was not injured either.  Nobody should be hurt because of these kinds of poor choices.

Once again, local authorities are reminder drivers: it's never safe to drink and drive.
