There is some grand opening news coming out of my own hometown of Nampa, Idaho this week.

Set to open just before Halloween on Monday, October 30th, this new Saint Luke's Nampa Medical Center is three stories tall, 200,000 square feet and cost $98 million.

While it has been a goal of the hospital to expand their services into Nampa, this is finally becoming a reality. The new hospital will offer similar services to other locations across the Treasure Valley, however this location will offer something unique for mother/infant patients. In-room NICU suites in the hospital will make for each mother and child to have their own room and their own nurse for the duration of their stay.

As exciting as this new hospital opening is for those in Nampa in regards to patients (or even potential patients), it's also great news for those working in the medical field.  This particular St. Luke's has hired 400 full-time employees.

Since the hospital was announced to be built in 2011, this is a long awaited gift in Nampa.
