Pumpkin Spice Hard Cider Comes to Treasure Valley

If you know me at all you know there are two things I love about fall: the return of football and everything pumpkin.  When the two of them clash, it's the best day ever!

Last Friday, my boyfriend and I went to the Downtown Old Chicago to wrap up our Gridiron mini beer tour and catch Coach Pete's Huskies demolish Stanford.  When we sat down I noticed a new tap handle: a giant pumpkin with the ACE logo on it.

California based ACE is best known for their Pineapple Hard Cider, but has been brewing a Pumpkin Hard Cider since 2010! Who knew?  Certainly not me because this is the first time I've seen it in anywhere in the Treasure Valley, on tap or in a bottle!  Flavored with cinnamon, cloves and a hint of allspice, this packs all the flavor of a pumpkin beer without giving you that full tummy feeling that beer often does.  If I had to rate it's pumpkin flavor, I'd say it tastes a lot like liquid pumpkin pie!
