As temperatures drop and fall quickly phases into winter, high school students, alumna, and football fans anticipate state championship games. Going into last week, several teams from the Treasure Valley remained in the semi-finals. Going into this week, just two local teams remain and are preparing to win a state title.

In the 5A bracket remains Rocky Mountain High School, a team that has traditionally always preformed well on the big stage. This year, Rocky Mountain is going into the game undefeated. This game will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Albertsons Stadium against Highland High School.

In the 4A bracket, the dominant Bishop Kelly program returns to the title game--their 5th appearance in 6 years. Head Coach Tim Brennan has chalked up 200 career wins and another trophy for the halls of Bishop Kelly won't be a shock. Their opponent, Hillcrest, comes in with just one loss. This game will also be on the blue this Saturday, at 1:00 p.m.

As for me, a loyal BK alum... OOH AHH BK!
