It's no secret. Boise, Idaho is an incredible place to live. Nice people, gorgeous views, and slightly above-average potato jokes. It's a good spot.

However, many Boisians are getting out of the Treasure Valley, and we've found out where they're choosing to call home instead.

Stacker.com listed the top destination cities for people from Boise to relocate to. Some of the results are pretty predictable, while a few of them are definitely out of right field.

Let's take a look at the top five.

Boisians Are Relocating To These Cities

When people leave Boise, where do they go? Here are the top five cities they're picking to call home.

Boise Residents Are Abandoning the Treasure Valley for These 15 Appealing Cities

Stacker recently put together a list of which cities people are moving to when they leave Boise. We dug into some of the Niche data for those cities to try and figure out why they're more appealing than our little neck of the woods. Home prices come from Realtor.com. Rent stats come from the most recent rental rate information available on Apartments.com (except Pocatello, they didn't give that figure so the rate quoted is from Niche.)

Now that we know where people are choosing to live instead of Boise, why are they doing so?

Boise residents have cited cost of living as one of the main reasons they've decided to relocate. Which makes no sense that Seattle and Portland are the most popular destinations considering they're (overall) much more expensive places to live.

Others say they've lived in Boise their entire lives, and are looking for a change of scenery. Or to go out on their own and get away from family. While some high school graduates do leave the Treasure Valley to attend college, the numbers aren't staggering.

If you're from Boise, where did you move to. Or, what city did you leave to come to Boise? We'd love to know your take to see if these numbers feel accurate to you as well.

Let's connect on Facebook so you can give us your two cents. Unless you're moving to Boise from California, in which case, we're closed. Try Nevada.
