The Numbers Are In On Idaho Student Debt
I'll be the first to tell you: student loans are the worst. Back in 2012, I was a fresh graduate out of Bishop Kelly High School and working out finances to be able to attend my dream college: Gonzaga University. When you're in that phase, signing off on student loans is nothing-- yes, you got the financial aid that you have needed to make it all possible. After you graduate however, those bills aren't going ANYWHERE. You know you will have to face them all along..but looking at those totals once a month is always a little intimidating.
Luckily, I've got a manageable amount due every month, but did you know that in the last year, students who took out loans to attend college in Idaho graduated with an average student loan debt of about $27,000? While the Western United States as a whole does rank much lower in student debt than the Eastern half of the country, among Western states, Idaho ranks third highest--only beaten by Montana and Oregon, respectively.
