There Are 411 Registered Sex Offenders Near Boise State

Like any married couple with sophisticated tastes, my wife and I watch a lot of true crime. Our most recent guilty pleasure has been binging old episodes of Cold Case Files.

In a recent episode we watched, a convicted sex offender kidnapped a young girl in the middle of the street during her walk home. It was later discovered that she lost her life. The details will be spared here because they are bone-chilling.

The reason I bring this up is because in 2023 (the episode in question took place in the 90s) there are so many resources you can use to keep your family safe from registered sex offenders in your area.

As of February 16th, 2023, there are 356 mapped registered sex offenders in Boise's 83725 area code. 55 others are "unmapped" per FamilyWatchDog.us's most recent staticstics.

Using the map, you can see down to the individual address where sexual offenders in your area reside, what type of crime they were found guilty of, and even if they've relocated to a new address.

These aren't scare tactics to gather gasps from readers. It's simply a free tool that hopefully none of us ever have to use, but should definitely be made aware of. If you've ever watched any true crime, you've heard the phrase "We never thought it could happen to us."

With all the technology available to us in 2023, let's hope that it never happens again to anyone.
