Pictured above is our 103.5 KISS FM crew and Mayor of Boise, Davie Bieter. We were just a few of the people gathered at Boise Pride Festival over the weekend-- literally.

Thousands were in attendance as Boise celebrated Pride-- an event based around the acceptance of all and being proud of who you are, no matter your sexual orientation or gender identification. The festival organizers expected over 50,000 to visit from start to finish over the weekend and certainly, it seemed that was the case. Friday night kicked off with a series of performers on the stage that DJ Complex and I were lucky enough to host. That night, acts included local star Rocci Johnson, Trans artist Jamie Wilson, and Betty Who. Saturday was kicked off with a parade in which THOUSANDS participated followed by an all day festival in the park.

Organizers of the event did an amazing job providing a safe and fun place for our community to come together and every year, I am inspired by the love our city shows. I should add, just one, singular, individual showed up to protest during the parade on Saturday morning and while the First Amendment is a beautiful thing, it was made obvious: finger pointing and telling others what they're doing wrong had no place in the streets of Boise this weekend.

Keep your eyes out for some photos that we'll be posting soon from the event!
