It was a big weekend here in the Treasure Valley as the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho, was host to the Idaho Girls Basketball State Championships.

These are the games that high school students work towards all year long--the ones that name the best of the best. It was no shocker that so many teams from the Treasure Valley made it into the playoffs but only a few teams came away victorious.

In the 2A Bracket, the treasure valley representative Melba High School lost in the finals to Soda Springs.

In the 3A Bracket, Parma High School fell to Sugar Salem 57-40.

In the 4A Bracket, the ladies of Caldwell High School (who surprisingly took to the championship game, breaking the typical presence of Middleton or Bishop Kelly) fell to Century of eastern-Idaho 41 to 26.

Finally, in the 5A Bracket there had to be a local state champion as both Eagle High School and Mountain View High School were in the finals. Eagle won, 51 to 47.

With the girls season now over, the boys are soon to take on the state tournament path. You can follow along to see who makes the cut and who will be playing who (as these details develop), by clicking HERE.
