The Idaho State Football Playoffs are in full swing, with the semi-finals happening in just a couple of days. The overwhelming majority of these teams are from the Treasure Valley. Clearly, this speaks volumes of football here in our backyard.

In the 5A bracket, 4 teams remain and 2 of them are from the Treasure Valley: Mountain View (who will be taking on Highland) and Rocky Mountain (who will be taking on Coeur d'Alene).

In the 4A bracket, three of the remaining four teams are from the Treasure Valley. Nampa High, Vallivue High, and my alma mater, Bishop Kelly High School.  BK has always had a rich football history, winning the state title year after year. After a couple years without a trophy--could this be their year? A tough re-match against Vallivue is in order for the Knights, while Nampa High will be facing Hillcrest.

Finally, in the 3A bracket, a shout out is in order for Homedale who is the last of four remaining teams from our area. They'll be taking on Timberlake to punch their ticket to the championship.

Which teams will YOU be rooting for on Friday night?
