Today Governor Little gave the green light for restaurants to open this Saturday so I did a poll on the KISS FM Instagram and only twenty five percent of respondents said they would be eating out this weekend. Clearly the majority of people are feeling like it's not safe. The results made me ask... what is the plan? According to an interview on ktvb with Tyler Jordan a Central District Health environmental specialist here is what you can expect from restaurants.

High traffic areas must be cleaned once an hour.

Menus must be cleaned after every use.

Tables must be spaced six to ten feet apart if this is not possible then only 50% of dinning area will be accessible.

Waiting areas cannot be used to congregate.

One interesting note is that Idaho food code does not require restaurant employees to wear masks but they must wear gloves when handling food.

Hopefully this helps you make an informed decision. It will definitely be good to get out and enjoy the great restaurants our city has to offer but we must do it safely.
