If I told you that I enjoy baked goods, that may be the biggest understatement of the year. I absolutely love baked goods. I don't discriminate I love everything from cookies to donuts to cheesecake but my favorite is pan dulce (mexican sweet bread) Conchas are delicious but the empanadas are next level. If you've never had one and have no idea what an empanada is here is a good description from wikipedia.

An empanada is a type of baked or fried turnover consisting of pastry and filling, common in Mediterranean, Latin American, Filipino cultures. The name comes from the Spanish verb empanar, and literally translates as "enbreaded", that is, wrapped or coated in bread.

Today is National Empanada day and just in case you're compelled to try one of these amazing treats allow me to recommend two great spots. Panaderia Coalcoman 5220 W Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83706 will provide the Mexican style sweet empanadas that are considered dessert.  On the other hand Tango's Empanadas 701 N Orchard St, Boise, ID 83706 serves up the Argentinian variety featuring meat filled hearty comfort food. Pick your flavor and go support a local business on National Empanada day.
