One of Idaho’s Largest School Districts is Moving to ‘EV’ Buses
A few days ago, we asked you how you'd feel if your kids were transported to school via an electric school bus.
The responses were...divided at best.
Well, the question doesn't have to remain a hypothetical any longer. Recently, the Boise School District was awarded almost $3,000,000 dollars to put toward adding electric school buses to the Boise Community Schools fleet to get kids to and from their respective schools.
Ali Ward, Sustainability Supervisor for Boise School District had this to say:
We are proud of the national recognition, endorsement, and opportunities given to us to continue our pursuit in creating a healthier, sustainable future for our students and community. The grant funds will allow us to spearhead our student transportation electrification efforts and continue on our way to becoming an environmentally responsible role model in our community. As we embark on this new EV journey, we are fortunate to have support from our partners, Durham School Services and Highland Electric Fleets, and look forward to seeing the positive impact the new school buses will have on our community.
What you may not know is there are actually a lot of advantages to being driven to school on an electric bus, as opposed to an old school one powered by fossil fuels.
