I was having a conversation with a winner today about the election and how messy it's gotten. Here's what Mindy said and I immediately asked to share it with you.

We talked about what politics would look like when my son grows up. I had explained how mean people get about what they believe in. Trump made a comment about words during the debate. I don't agree with that. He was saying his comments about women were just words. That's false. Words are destructive, demoralizing, and hateful. The bruises you occur in a physical dispute fade away, but words sting for a lifetime.

If I were to walk up to a person and call them a fat pig, it would destroy them. Sidenote: I'm not referring to Trump, but people in general. They say actions speak louder than words, but in today's world those actions are blasted on social media with words. We have to be careful what we say. It's important we teach our kids that words have a lasting impact. Think of all the kids who have committed suicide due to the constant hatred on social media. Don't tell me it's only words.
