Arrest Made Following Terrifying Downtown Boise Hit & Runs
Downtown Boise was lively over the weekend. Patios were open, the weather was just perfect, and the city's signature 'Twilight Criterium' was taking place in the streets as hundreds of bicycles and spectators gathered to watch.
Soon after 9:30 p.m., sirens began blaring downtown Boise--an incident had taken place on Main Street and continued on through Southeast Boise. One out of control driver put several lives in danger and the investigation continues.
According to the Boise Police Department, a Felony hit and run took place on Main and 11th in downtown Boise. The driver struck two pedestrians and then continued down Main, being chased by witnesses. He was eventually stopped and arrested on Parkcenter Boulevard, near Pennsylvania Avenue.

Unfortunately, there are hospitalized victims that are battling critical injuries.
While at this time, the suspect, Jacob Miller, faces two felonies. Police have said that they are evaluating the case and he could be facing additional charges.
The scene downtown Boise was very emotional when this took place. Folks at bars and restaurants were on patios and witnessed the incident. We spoke with witnesses that saw the hit and runs--many claimed that they saw the pedestrians "in the air" after being struck by the vehicle.
We saw other witnesses who couldn't stop crying after witnessing all of this. Many immediately went home and wanted to be nowhere near downtown any more. One drivers severe negligence was uncalled for and authorities are going to bring justice.
Official details from authorities have not been released beyond the fact that both victims are facing life-threatening injuries.
If you were in the area and saw anything, have any information, or are a business with footage from street-facing cameras, police are asking you to call dispatch.
