I'll never forget the time that I drove out of the radio station one night-- I was done, I was ready for bed, but as I turned up Parkcenter Boulevard it looked like the entire city was about to go up in flames. With Table Rock overlooking Southeast Boise, when it was on fire it looked like a storm of flames was on it's way into downtown. The feeling was surreal.

Damage that will take years to heal was inflected upon Table Rock and while, come spring time, it appeared green from afar--the soil and vegetation faces years of recovery. The fires meant many popular trails had to be closed down and all because of one ignorant act--lighting off fireworks where they were prohibited.

If you would like to get involved in helping restore Table Rock, you can on November 11th! From 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. the BLM is inviting you to help with planting new and caring for existing landscape on Table Rock.

Pack some water and some snacks, dress for getting a little dirty in some cool temperatures, and help in the efforts. RSVP and find more details HERE.
