I don't know why I get so sucked into this show every summer, but it looks like I now have a valid reason to watch America Ninja Warrior!

For those of you not familiar with the reality show, it follows athletes from all walks of life as they take on a HUGE obstacle course that tests their strength in every part of their body (and to be honest, occasionally resembles the show Wipe Out or Boise's own Insane Inflatable 5K.)  If they compete well enough in the qualifying around across the country, they get a chance to take on the obstacle to end all obstacle courses, Mt. Midoriayama, in Las Vegas.  Last year two Americans actually finished the course, but the one who did it fastest took home the $1 million. That means this season will be tougher than the previous seven seasons.

The coolest part of this season? According to KTVB Boise shows up! Tammy McClure showed up on the show last season but didn't advance from qualifying.  This year, McClure qualified in Indianapolis. Her family owns Indian Creek Winery in Kuna and she often uses wine boxes to practice jumps during training.  She's also been known to enjoy wine while doing push ups.

Duncan Richardson, the VP of Bodies in Motion, is competing six months after open heart surgery and a family tragedy.  Training for Ninja Warrior has helped him cope with the challenges.

Their results are secret until the episodes air, so we have no idea how far the Boise athletes made it, but I can tell you America Ninja Warrior is on KTVB on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM.

Idaho has previously been represented by the "Cowboy Ninja," Lance Pekus from Salmon. The shirtless cowboy shoes off his abs on national TV for the fifth time after a great showing on season 7.
