During the pandemic, so many things changed. Early on, the sports world came to a screeching halt. Before the NBA, NHL, and NFL decided to continue without fans, like the NCAA, most leagues completely shut down their operations. As a sports fan, I was devastated. The sports entertainment that I was used to spending my free time watching and talking about with friends was gone. ESPN released the Last Dance documentary, and I was fascinated by it, but it wasn't live new content. Historical discussions with friends have a shelf life. I am not someone that enjoys re-hashing the past, so I needed something more. That's when I discovered fake sports!

During the COVID-19 shutdown, one "sport" carried on with their activities. While WWE didn't allow fans into their events, they became the model for other sports moving forward. Whether they will get credit for that remains to be seen. Providing fresh, new content for fans each week during a time when we needed a break from the news and the sad reality of life at that time was much appreciated by its fans. It was during this time that I found pro wrestling and became a fan myself.

I don't have the sport's background like long time viewers do, but tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw on the USA Network features several WWE Legends. Names like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Seargent Slaughter, and more will return to the show that made them famous in the '80s and '90s. One of those legends is Boise native Torrie Wilson. Torrie was one of the first female stars in the WWE and was born and raised in the Treasure Valley. After overcoming anorexia and bulimia, she started working out and won the Miss Galaxy competition in 1998. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting when she attended a wrestling match with her boyfriend. The rest is history!

Torrie has appeared in Playboy, FHM, several music videos, and reality shows. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.
